The Golden State Warriors are coming off a rare loss, falling at Miami on 105-102 on Monday on the road. Charlotte had their three-game winning streak snapped at home against Washington on Monday. On Jan. 4, Golden State beat the Hornets at home, 111-101. These two teams meet in North Carolina on Wednesday night.
Warriors can’t stop Waiters
Dion Waiters drained a three-pointer over Klay Thompson from the top of the key with 0.6 seconds left to give Miami (15-30) an upset win over the Warriors on Monday. Kevin Durant led the Warriors with 27 points, while Klay Thompson added 22 points on 8-of-18 shooting. Steph Curry, who returns home to face the Hornets from his home state on Wednesday, scored 21 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out eight assists. The Warriors shot 46.6 percent from the floor but just 8-of-30 from beyond the arc. But ultimately, they couldn’t stop Dion Waiters, who tied his career high of 33 points for the second straight games.
The Warriors rank first in the NBA in offense (117.6ppg), first in field goal percentage (49.9%), and second in three-point percentage (38.5%). They rank 16th in points per game allowed (104.9ppg), first in field goal percentage defense (43.3%) and first in 3-point percentage defense (31.8%). Durant leads the Warriors in scoring with 26.1 points per game, while Draymond Green leads in assists per game (7.6apg), rebounds per game (8.6rpg, and steals per game (1.9spg).
