Mihajlovic was appointed as the successor to the chair coach Filippo Inzaghi in Milan this season. However, the Serbian coach began their work with negative results after Milan bent Fiorentina 2-0.
"We work with high intensity. He came in and changed the mentality of the players. We practiced with the maximum every day and it will be fruitful," said Zapata, as reported by the Milan Channel.
"Coach wants a high defensive line, not afraid of dealing one on one. I feel fit and playing well with the system," he continued.
"This is my fourth season here. The first season was a good one because we managed to advance to the Champions League," said the Colombian legions.
"The other two did not go well and we were having some problems. We hope to return to a high level and was trying to make it happen," added Zapata.
