The Blues were able to beat Tottenham 2-0 at Wembley so Jose Mourinho's troops were entitled to embrace the League Cup. Even so, Dier believes his team is now better than that day.
Tottenham host Chelsea in the Premier League at White Hart Lane on Sunday (28/11) night.
"Chelsea are very impressive on that day because I thought we were the better team, but they know how to win," said Dier told reporters.
"You could say they have a lot of experienced players who play a lot of games and win lots of trophies. They also know how to win and achieve results. But, I think we proved that we learned from last season and we can get a result."
