Barcelona are not invincible, insists Arsenal defender Gabriel

Barcelona are not invincible, insists Arsenal defender Gabriel - Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista insists Luis Enrique’s Barcelona side are far from unbeatable ahead of the meeting on Tuesday.

The reigning Champions League holders have been in truly frightening form since the turn of the year, as they have opened up an eight-point gap at the top of La Liga and have won 13 of their last 14 matches in all competitions.

Arsenal struggled to qualify for the knockout stages after losing their first two fixtures against Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos, and only sealed their place in the last 16 after a 3-0 win in Greece on matchday six.

And the Brazilian centre-back, who is hoping to be fit enough to return after injury ruled him out of his side’s last two matches, believes Arsenal’s struggles in the early part of the competition have helped them to grow stronger.

He told Goal: "There is no doubt we didn’t play well in some of our earlier games. We were not playing as well as we could but we had time to recover and made sure we reached the next stage of the competition.

"I believe that experience helped to make us stronger for the game coming up against Barcelona. They have a fantastic team but they are not unbeatable."
