As the Russian driver completed his pre-season testing at Circuit de Catalunya he left feeling satisfied with the work completed on the new RB12 after producing 358 laps over his four days in the car.
After teams ran individual test programmes the majority of drivers were made to speculate about their chances at the Australian Grand Prix but Kvyat refused to be drawn on any predictions and preferred to focus on his own performance.
“I have no idea to be honest. I don't know what to expect. Don't ask me this,” Kvyat said. “To me it is just about going there and trying our maximum. I am not even thinking about it. I have no expectations.
“I have just been trying to become a better driver these few days of testing and trying to make a better car for myself and the team. And then nothing else matters. We have done everything from our side and then we will see where we are.”
Kvyat and team-mate Daniel Ricciardo are gearing up for the 2016 F1 world championship with the new TAG-Heuer-branded power unit which is being built by Renault and developed in house by Red Bull.
