F1 Bahrain GP: Hamilton wary of Ferrari as he looks to strike back - Lewis Hamilton says he remains confident in his pace heading to the Bahrain Grand Prix after a disappointingly lacklustre performance at the Australian opener earlier in the month.

A poor start from pole position left Hamilton as low as sixth at Albert Park though he would eventually work his way up to second position behind Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg after a determined effort by the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen to cause an upset.

Indeed, Hamilton anticipates Ferrari could make itself more of a factor in coming races, a challenge he says he buoyed by, as he looks to recover back ground on Rosberg.

“I'm excited at the thought of more races like Melbourne. There are going to be weekends where we're a few seconds up the road from Ferrari, races where it's wheel to wheel and races where they might be ahead. We really don't know - and that's exciting.

“I have a good feeling about my pace. I was ahead all weekend until the race start last time out, so I'm confident heading to Bahrain. It's been entertaining on track for the past two seasons there, so more of the same would be great!”
