'We are texting now and again' - Gotze in touch with Klopp but unsure on future - The World Cup winner says he is uncertain where his future lies and much will depend on what new coach Carlo Ancelotti thinks when he arrives at Allianz Arena in the summer.

Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze says he remains in touch with former coach Jurgen Klopp amid speculation linking the Germany international with a move to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old admits he texts the Reds boss but insists they have not yet discussed a move to Anfield.

The duo worked together at Borussia Dortmund winning two Bundesliga titles and making it to the Champions League final in 2013.

"We are texting now and again. He was my coach at Borussia Dortmund, but there is nothing special," he told ZDF TV.

However, when asked whether they had discussed a potential transfer to Anfield, Gotze replied simply: "No."

Gotze also remained coy on questions regarding his future, and when asked how important new coach Carlo Ancelotti would be to any decision he might make he replied: "Very important. We're still in this season but when you talk about next season and you're in that situation it will be important how the coach views those things."

Gotze made his first start for Bayern for five months on Saturday as the club thrashed Werder Bremen 5-0 but says he understands why he has been on the bench in recent weeks.

"On the one hand, yes. I am coming back from an injury, was injured for a long time and I need my fitness again," he added

"On the other hand, when you're coming back, you only want to play again, even if it's just for one, two or three minutes.

"It was nice to return. I am just pleased that I was able to play again."
