Mikel almost joined to Besiktas this summer, but as reported by a Turkish daily, Radyospor, management of the Blues retain the midfielder after they failed to get Paul Pogba from Juventus.
So far this season, Mikel has appeared one of the four initial matches of Chelsea in the Premier League.
