Iker Casillas explain the reasons to leave Real Madrid

Iker Casillas finally open about the reason to leave Real Madrid, the club that defended since 1999 ago, to Porto. Spain goalkeeper legend claimed to need room to "breathe".

World Cup champions have to end the trip 25 years at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after extensive criticism of the majority of fans and the Spanish media related decline in performance in the last three years.

Casillas, 34, did not dismiss the insults addressed to him too heavy to force him to lift the suitcase.

"There was a period when I got a lot of criticism and I need time to get away from it," he told reporters. "Now I am happy and it shows on my face.

"It's a tough move, but for me this is a new experience with a new sense of enthusiasm.

"The situation in Madrid is not the best, I always focus on attention, whether positive or negative, and I need room to breathe."
