Atletico Madrid returned to the top of La Liga on Sunday as they beat Celta Vigo 2-0.

The capital club sat just a point behind Barcelona heading into the game, but goals from Antoine Griezmann and Yannick Ferreira Carrasco saw Diego Simeone's men take the three points to leapfrog their way back to the top of the table.

After an underwhelming first half, Griezmann opened the scoring just four minutes after the restart. The Frenchman found Luciano Vietto with a neat through ball, who played it back to the striker, putting it on a plate for him as he tapped home.

Ferreira Carrasco killed the game off with 10 minutes remaining, as he picked up a loose ball inside Celta's half and skipped past several of defenders before firing it in with aplomb.

Atletico now sit two points clear of the Catalan side, who have a game in hand.
