Ferrari fires up 2016 engine for first time

Ferrari fires up 2016 engine for first time - It is often considered that the engine is the heart of any race car so it seems fitting to hear Ferrari's 2016 challenger fire into life for the first time on Valentine's Day.

Ferrari is set to launch its 2016 F1 car with an online presentation next weekend before its first public appearance at the opening pre-season F1 test on 22nd February in Barcelona.

The 2016 Ferrari, which is yet to be officially named, is expected to be a thoroughly revised model on last year's SF15-T, and according to reports as well as an updated engine the MGU-K has been repositioned to the left-hand side of the engine.

Without revealing the identity of the new Ferrari in a video teaser, the Maranello-based squad has fired up the Ferrari 059/5 engine with a muzzled growl. The engines are also expected to be louder in 2016 thanks to a tweak in technical regulations with the exhaust systems.
