Sooner or later we will see Ronaldo, Messi and Rooney in China, says Eriksson - The Shanghai SIPG coach says while he does not expect the Manchester United captain to leave Old Trafford soon he would not be surprised to see him move to the Far East
Sven Goran Eriksson claims that players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney could all make the move to the Chinese Super League in the near future.

A host of big names have headed to the Far East this winter including Ramires, Jackson Martinez, Alex Teixeira and Gervinho.

Barcelona's Arda Turan has been the latest high-profile star to be linked with China although his agent has moved to deny reports Beijing Guoan were ready to offer €20 million per season on a five-year deal.

Rooney is another player who is reportedly attracting interest from China and Eriksson, currently coach of Shanghai SIPG, would not be surprised to see the England captain head to Asia at some point in his career.

“Who doesn’t want Rooney?” he told Expressen.

"But I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want to leave Manchester United. Not for this moment, anyway.

“Sooner or later, we are going to see names like Ronaldo, Messi and Rooney in this league — players on this level.”
