The Atlanta Hawks travel to face James Harden and the Rockets.
The Atlanta Hawks (28-21) lost to the Miami Heat 116-93 on Wednesday night. The Hawks struggled offensively against the Heat as they only hit 39 percent of their shots. With the loss, Atlanta is 6-4 over their last ten games. They look to bounce back tonight as they travel to face the Houston Rockets for the second time this season. In their first match-up against the Rockets, the Hawks offense was outstanding as they hit 52.9 percent of their shots. Paul Millsap led the way for Atlanta with 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win. The Hawks have had their way with the Rockets, recently winning six straight games against Houston - dating back to the 2014 season. Atlanta has been solid on the road this season going 14-10 overall.
The Houston Rockets (36-16) beat the Sacramento Kings 105-83 on Tuesday night. Ryan Anderson led the way for Houston, scoring 25 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the win. With that victory, the Rockets are 5-5 over their last ten games. Houston looks to avenge their early season loss to the Hawks tonight at home. In their first game against Atlanta, Houston struggled on defense losing 112-97. The Rockets allowed all five starters for the Hawks to score double digits in the game. Despite the loss, MVP candidate James Harden had another outstanding game, scoring 30 points and hitting four three-pointers for the Rockets. Houston will be looking forward to playing at home tonight, as they are 18-5 at home this season.
Keys to the game
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks must limit James Harden if they stand any chance at beating the Rockets on the road. Harden has been outstanding this season, averaging 28.4 points, 11.5 assists and 8.2 rebounds per game. If Atlanta can find a way to contain Harden tonight, they should have a good chance of winning in Houston.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets must play great team defense if they expect to beat the Hawks at home. Houston has struggled this year on defense, letting up 108 points per game to their opponents. If the Rockets can play defense like they did last time out against the Kings - when they allowed 83 points - they should be able to beat the Hawks tonight.
Atlanta Hawks projected starting lineup
PG Schroder | SG Bazemore | SF Hardaway | PF Millsap | C Howard.
Houston Rockets projected starting lineup
