Oklahoma City Thunder stampeded by Chicago Bulls, 128-100

On the tail end of consecutive contests, the Oklahoma City Thunder lost handily to the Chicago Bulls 128-100.

Amid a third loss in as many games, Russell Westbrook finished with 28 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in 29 minutes of action. Overall, OKC shot just 38 percent from the field while placing Chicago at the foul line 30 times.

Furthermore, Oklahoma City’s ball movement was stagnant as the team registered a sub-par 17 assists on 38 made baskets. Westbrook and Adams struggled to establish their patented two-man game —with Adams netting eight points on eight shot attempts.

Finally, the Thunder’s secondary and tertiary contributors such as Victor Oladipo (5-14), Domantas Sabonis (1-10), Anthony Morrow (3-11), and Cameron Payne (3-10) floundered mightily in the absence of Enes Kanter and Alex Abrines.

Minus Kanter, the Thunder’s offense — and win total — has suffered a precipitous drop.

Meanwhile, Chicago was paced by Jimmy Butler’s 28 points. Dwyane Wade finished with 18 — and Doug McDermott (11) led an effective Bulls reserve unit.

Chicago has now won two straight to even their record at 25-25. Conversely, Oklahoma City has fallen to 28-22. With the loss, OKC and the Bulls conclude their season-series tied at one win apiece.

The Thunder next take the court Friday night at 8 PM ET vs. streaking Memphis.

Here are my FB Live! post-game thoughts concerning this disappointing outing from Oklahoma City. Though half asleep, I still ranted for a solid 20 minutes concerning the team’s precarious state of affairs.
